Abstract: Deposit mobilization is one of the major objectives of banks. Deposit is the bedrock of all banking activities. The rush by many entrants into the financial system during the deregulation era trigger massive competition in the banking industry. New products and aggressive marketing techniques/approach to services by the banks become the order of the lay, all in their effort to mobilize more deposits; the bedrock of banking business.
