ABSTRACT
The prerequisite that determines good administration is predicated on effective utilization of its scarce financial resources for the overall benefit of majorities. Threading on people oriented programmes in order to bring developmental dividends to the people ought to be the hall markof any administration.
In this research work, the researcher is interested in the efficient utilization of local government financial resources in accordance with the laid down procedures and principles, to mitigate the effect of corruption to the nearest minimum, to make sure that those who occupy the offices
of local government chairman and councilors are those when have a proven characters and integrity.
In the process of testing the hypothesis, it was discovered that there is no relationship between corruption and good governance. Tables were constructed using data obtained from the published financial income and expenditure statement of Egor Local Government Council from
December 2007 to September 2009 to reveals the income from the statutory federation account and the internally generated revenue and how much were actually spent on capital projects.
The result showed that there were embezzlement of funds, over inflation of contract sum, misapplication of project and lack of basic amenities in the local government.............ORDER FOR COMPLETE PROJECT MATERIAL NOW!! .
