in the simplest term, public relations is to establish
arid maintain mutual understanding between tin organization or
individual and the relevant publics so as to create goodwill
for the organization. However, in the case of government
parastatals in Kaduna metropolis is, in spite of having pub1ic
relations units, there seems to exist lack of mutual
understanding between them and their relevant publics.
This study was, therefore, carried out to appraise the
use of public relations programmes in government parastatals
in Kaduna metropolis. The objectives of the study are:
1. To determine the degree of involvement of public relations
input programmes as tool for the management of government
2. To appraise the level of effectiveness of employee, customer
and community relations programmes in government parastatals
in Kaduna met ropo1is .
