A quadrennial festival maaked by cultural rites ,conviviality and masqurading, the Omabe Masking Tradition i n Ibagwa-Aka has survived as a living culture whose indigenous traditional features are only fairly adulterated by contemporary developments. In this study, the researcher probes the aesthetic contents of the Omabe cult, its evolving iconography, and the potential of the festival as a source for present-day visual communication designs.
