1.0 Introduction
This project is centered on the compiled Bibliography on Journals in Library and Information Science in John Harris’s Library University of Benin, Benin City
1.1 Background of the study
According to Webster Dictionary of English Language at page 200 defined compilations as the act of collecting materials and while on the hand defined Bibliography as a complete list of a writer’s work or a list of books on a particular subject or a list of references at the end of a book. Lastly it defined Journals as a record of events, personal experiences and thoughts etc or a newspaper or magazines
published at regular or irregular intervals indicating the year, volume, imprint and serial numbers.
1.2 Statement of the project Bibliography
The growing concern of non-availability of articulated compiled Bibliography on journals in Nigerian libraries has continued to bread frustration among its users and researchers. This is a challenge we ignore at own peril as the success of any compiled Bibliography is anchored on the effectiveness and efficiency of its libraries. Many compiled Bibliographies abound, on gross inefficiency in service
delivery of libraries in third world countries. Some studies claimed non-availability on the inefficiency on themselves, due to the increase on the amount of compiled
