PRIVATIZATION OF PUBLIC ENTERPRISES AND ITS IMPICATIONS FOR SERVICES DELIVERY: A CASE STUDY OF PHCN BENIN CITY
ABSTRACT
This research paper is designed to look into privatization of public enterprises and its implications for service delivery with the power Holdings Company of Nigeria as a case study. Public enterprises in Nigeria have not been making profits in spite of the billions sunk on them, they still do not render
adequate service to which they are established. This formed the basis for the proponent of privatization and commercialization in Nigeria.
During the course of interviews it was learnt that privatization would increase the level of productivity and improve the efficiency and effectiveness of public enterprises. It is therefore concluded that privatization will be beneficial to PHCN in implicating and improve service delivery.
