PROBLEMS OF EDUCATING THE PHYSICALLY  CHALLENGED IN NIGERIA: A CASE STUDY OF  SELECTED SCHOOLS IN OREDO LOCAL  GOVERNMENT AREA OF EDO STATE.
ABSTRACT

The aim of this study is to investigate the problems of eradicating the physically challenged students in Edo State as some selected schools in Benin City will be used as the sample. During the course of the research, the researcher found out that the ability to be educated is all innate tendencies in human beings whether disabled or not. It was to cover the roles of teachers in educating the physically 
challenged students. It was also found out that physically challenged students could perform, excellently well in academic work like the normal students. The research recommended and suggested that the physically challenged should be encouraged to remove the ill feelings of their disability and feel free with normal peers. More emphasis was laid down that the government and the society should fund the education of physically challenged persons. To crown it all, the family 
(parents) should show care and encourage them by coping with any strange characters they posses in order.
