The important of Guidance and Counseling is not yet well appreciated by our secondary school especially in Oredo Local Government Area.
This project work is centered around the vital role played by the guidance Counselor in our secondary school.
The organization of this project is such that chapter one contain the background of the study, the statement of the problem, basic assumption etc. the purpose of this study is to determined the role played by the guidance Counsellor on the career choice of our secondary school student in
some selected secondary school in Oredo Local Government Area.
Chapter two focus on the literature review, which form the background for guidance Counsellor on the career choice of our secondary school students.
Chapter three dwells on the research methodology adopted to gather the relevant data for subsequentpresentation, analysis of data, result and discussion in
chapter four. Chapter five gives finding, recommendation and conclusion.
Finally, the major finding of this study is:
1. That there is relationship between the guidance Counsellor on the student career choice.
2. The information given by the guidance Counsellor on the prestige value of a job and economic factor has no significant effect on the student’s choice of career.
3. There is no significant influence on the guidance Counsellor on the student choice of career.
