INFORMATION
Caritas University came into existence in
2005.and from inception; the university senate has been within the
administrative block which is not quite conducive. The senate building has been
adequately provided for in caritas university master plan. This underscores the
understanding of the master plan designers of the need for senate building
which is a necessity to the university system.
A senate building is basically the
administrative sector of the university. It houses the university council and
senate chamber and other offices.

CHAPTER TWO
LITERATURE REVIEW
2.1.0 ADMINISTRATION IN HIGHER
EDUCATION
The governing structure of any institution
be it academic or not determines to a great extent whatever happens within
parts of the administrative structure. An important aspect of the university
administration is that it has a very high percentage of educated members, which
is an introductory event to a smoother functioning of the university
administration.
2.1.1 ORIGIN OF UNIVERSITY
The university is not left out among those
subjects that reflect a past. The university was known as a professor of
centered academy between 1100AD and 1800AD. This is because its education was centered
on the high professor who teaches people gathered together and waiting for
professor to impart them with knowledge.
This
practice then, took place under trees. At that time, there was no grading
system, it was the sole duty of the professor to graduate anyone whom he feels
has learnt or acquires all what he has taught and appropriate payment came
directly from the students.
As time went on and the dominance for
formal education increased, the professor centered academics were taught under
one umbrella where the fees became standardized and appropriate grading
introduced. This development gave rise to professor’s employees of an organized
system giving rise to salary structural system.
With the development, grades grew in number
thereby making it imperative for records to be kept. Hence, statisticians and
security systems were introduced.
